Small towns hold a sense of security, a feeling of safety. A place where no one ever expects anything but good things to come. Yet just a few weeks before Halloween, in the small town of Mainville, Ohio- things start to take a turn. In just one week, three kids have disapepeared from their beds, there's been talk about abnormal sightings in the woods, and the death toll in animals has risen to a chilling amount. What could possibly be going on? "What are you talking about?" Wren whispered harshly, a worried look crawling onto her face. I bit the inside of my cheek. She was going to think I was crazy. No, insane. "Ben," she gripped my forearm, "tell me what's going on." I felt my heart twist at the look in her eyes. She was scared. "Mikey said... he saw something... crawl out from the closet last night,". Her grip on my arm tightened, and her eyes widened. "What was it?" her voice was below a whisper now, I could barely hear her. But that was okay, because all I could do was stare back at her.

It may be a small town. But it has its many secrets. ----------------------------- I decided to forget about it for now and was going to head back to the group... ...when I heard it again. Louder this time. "Help me! Help!" My heart was racing. My legs were quivering. What should I do? "Help! I need help!" I spotted a pair of arms waving in the distance of the forest. My teeth chattered. I had to at least go and check it out. I dashed into Forgotten Forest, zigzagged to avoid the trees, and saw the person. Saw the boy who was drowning in quicksand. ----------------------------- If you like adventure, mystery, humor, or cliffhangers, then this is the book for you! Cover: Recolor Copyright by Ash J.
