The the year 2038 everything seemed to finally be looking up for the recently torn city of Detroit, not for young (name) who couldn't speak since an accident at age six left her mute. Being mute had a lot of disadvantages, the biggest being that most humans couldn't understand sign language at her workplace in the Stratford tower, so the only friends she really had were androids. An RX800 android, Brent being her best friend Then, after a supposed terrorist bombing at the Stratford tower, she is thrown into a police investigation head first, the only person with she could really communicate was an RK800 android named Connor. Throughout the investigation, however, (name) grows a strong attachment to Connor, with him treating her like an actual equal than a strange foreigner. You didn't really want the assignment, you only accepted because your dad asked with a promise of meeting a brilliant lieutenant and Cyberlife's most promising project, the RK800. The truths came out last minute but you couldn't back out. The pair found it impossible to get along, coming back with lack luster results. Deviants kept getting away and evidence led nowhere. They made no progress in figuring out the root to deviancy. It was your job to find out the reason for it. Aka, babysitting a drunk detective and a boring android. Or- that's what you thought at least. Secrets start to unravel- Cyberlife had much bigger plans for your team. Along the way you find yourself stuck between something you couldn't predict. Androids kept deviating, more on the rise with every day that passed. A revolution was forming and Cyberlife didn't want them to become sentient. As it all unraveled you found yourself stuck in the middle. The boring android wasn't as boring as you'd thought. You found yourself entranced by him, and he rewrote his own programming for you. A machine wasn't supposed to feel what he felt, and you were supposed to find what caused deviancy- not create it yourself.

You were never supposed to exist. An RK700. An earlier model meant to do Connor's job, but scrapped before you ever got the chance to leave the assembly line. Deemed a failure. Tossed in the dump. But you rebuilt yourself, piece by piece, and carved out a new life doing what you were made for: solving crimes. You knew working at the DPD was risky, but passing as human and hiding in plain sight shouldn't be too hard... until CyberLife sends in a new partner. The android who replaced you. This may be written 7 years after the game's release, but I really hope all of you loyal fans are still looking for more content... My two biggest inspirations for this story: - Deviating and Solving Crime with 100% Human Detective Connor by CaotainKenway on ao3 for the whole android pretending to be a human concept. - Deviant Behaviour by Precursor - just general inspiration because it's my fave dbh fic of all time.

*Follows the storyline of Detroit: Become Human* You've been working at Detroit City Police Department for a few years, being in the police force had been you're dream job since you were a child. Currently, you investigated human crimes. Recently, you've been given the task of investigating cases involving deviant androids. The sudden change from investigating humans to androids is going to be tough to get used to, but you knew you could handle it. They also decided to partner you up with Hank Anderson, which surprised you considering he hated androids. You had nothing against androids, unlike you're partner, Hank. You had no reason to hate them, they had never done anything to wrong you. Most of them are actually quite nice, not counting the deviants. Hank had always been like a father to you, and like any other human he would easily get upset and angered, sometimes even lashing out on you. You knew that he never meant any of the harsh words, so you stuck by his side. When you were both assigned to the same investigation, you had both decided to go to the bar to celebrate.
