This story plays off just after the 5D's series and Xyz summoning was still not well known. Dan Carter is a duelist known for his zombie deck, thou not the best deulist out there, his deck is renown for being stubborn to overcome. His deuling journey brings him regularly to tournaments, not for trying to be the top deulist in the world, but attempting to prove that you dont need the base deck of legendary deulists to make it in the big leagues, instead he composed his deck of roundom zombie type monsters that support each other. But his journey takes a dark twist when he wins an opportunity to go work for Maximillan Pegasus at Illusion industries, as a new deck tester. Author's note: This story is strictly fanfiction, all characters named here out of previous Yu-gi-oh titles are strictly for reference and sub story, im in no way attempting to copy a story or trying to benefit from this novel, i have been a huge fan of Yu-gi-oh since i was a child and wanted to make my own story using the "Deul masters" card game. This story is packed with millennium item troubles, a tournament, and Egypt related events. Warning: Some dark themes, violence and suggestive moments. Things escalate exponentially around the climax. I feel like a part of me is this Hapu Van Schroeder character. She has some of my quirks and qualities that get us both into loads of trouble. Yugi, a young boy who was a servant for the royal family in Egypt, had stumbled upon the young prince with one of his teachers in the garden. Yugi was not allowed to befriend or speak with Atem unless asked or forced to. One day, Yugi was playing with some of the other servant kids until the young prince and his friend Mana were out in the field kicking some rocks. The young servant had not realized on how much he and the prince looked alike, the only 2 differences were that Yugi was way more paler and was not royal. Yugi had somehow gotten hurt, and this is where the relationship began. As his "friends" left him because they could not handle the crying, the caring prince and his friend rushed over to his aid. The servant just thought they'd help so none of their 'slaves' would be harmed and could continue working but that's not how Atem saw it. Later on things had happened to where the prince had ordered his father to keep Yugi in the palace, so the two grew up together until war began. For 3 years Atem had left..
