After being forced to abandoned her family during the betrayal of an old family friend, Louella Cousland- the half-elf daughter of Teyrn Bryce Cousland- is possibly the last surviving member of her entire family. 

She had managed out a secret passage in Castle Highever with the Warden Commander of the Grey Wardens of Fereldon, Ser Duncan, who then recruited her into the Order. 

During which time, she has suffered more betrayal and is one of the last 2 Grey Wardens in Fereldon to stop a blight from ravaging the lands. She and Alistair Theirin, the Bastard prince of King Maric and half brother of the late King Cailin, must enforce ancient Grey warden treaties and unite the lands against the once Fabled Archdemon. All while battling darkspawn, demons, and even evading Assassins. 

Louella, Alistair, and their 'colorful' group of companions must put an end to the civil war and keep Fereldon from falling apart and succumbing to the darkness that threatens its once beautiful lands.
