"We need to get out now" Victoria's voice get higher. She grabs her coat and begins buttoning her buttons with shaky hands. The thumping at the door gets louder and my heart races. I look at Violet and she grabs her coat also.
"Orders were to stay here" Connor says as the thumping gets louder. Victoria ignores him and finishes buttoning. I stand there, unable to do anything. It's as if I'm paralyzed and not connected to reality, but know what it is. I watch and stare at all of them, Connor especially, who's freaking out.
"Connor, do you know what were up against? We don't know what their capable of. And hell, they want to kill us!" says Violet, taking bags, and heading towards the kitchen.
"Were going to die here" Jennie says, tears streaming down her face. My heart breaks. Jennie is too fragile and oversensitive to be experiencing this. Fortunately Jace approaches her and envelopes her in a hug. She dares to let out a sob afterwards. He quickly quiets her.
A jolt races through my body and I blink. I move a little, and turn to face Connor. He stares at me with those eyes and I almost melt, but this is not the time."She's right, we need to leave now"
He opens his mouth, then closes it as the thumping becomes into rapid pounding. He goes over to the coat rack and grabs his coat."Jennie,Jace, and Blake, get your coats." he commands and they act rapidly. I put on my coat. Violet comes back with the bags full of food and water bottles. She sees everyone with their coats on and nods at Victoria.
With everyone ready, we head towards the back door frantically. I feel a warm hand in mine and I look up at Connor.
"I'm trusting you with my life here"
