The eight stories of "The Fabini Circus" take place in a small, imaginary town lost in the hills of Tuscany, Italy and named Fabini.  In the center of town is a rather ambiguous shaped fountain which generates mysterious libidinal energy among the various residents and visitors.  In addition to this centralizing symbol, there are numerous related characters mentioned tangentially in one story only to resurface as characters in another.
     The first story begins with the arrival of a dilapidated circus, and the final story reintroduces the circus which has taken on a greater sophistication, making a full circle in the evolution of the stories.
     There are essentially two themes running through the stories.  The first one deals with men/women relationships.  The second consists of irreverent satire on the following topics: religion, government, ethnic conflicts, and of course sex.  All stories must be read in their entirety to full appreciate the Fabini Circus.All Rights Reserved

This is an experimental project I'm working on, a collection of modern "fables, fairytales, and folk stories" told in a frame story (a traditional story that houses sub-stories, like 1,001 Nights or the Pentamerone). The frame story follows a group of beauty pageant contestants who, in an attempt to make the contest more palatable to an increasingly polarized audience, compete to tell the best folk tale. I don't want this project to reflect solely my views--I want it to be more communal, which is why I'm opening these stories up for comments! If there's something you like, dislike, or just think is weird ("why do all the lions have Biblical names?"), feel free to drop a comment saying as much, and I'll see if I can incorporate them into the final version in the form of reactions from the audience, judges, or other contestants :)

Not only that, the world she's been transported to is filled with not just humans, but also nonhumans such as elves, demons, fairies, and other beastmen that don't get along with each other and are afraid of a special species known as dragons, a type of demigod. How is the newly born hero suppose to bring the world back together and defeat the dragons? By becoming another type of demigod herself: a kitsune, the symbol of peace that has sworn to protect the residents of this world from chaos and destruction.
