Beverly Curie only lives for herself (and maybe ice cream). When her three nieces are suddenly put under her care, she must do the impossible: think about someone other than herself.

Beverly is the only member of her family left in Chestnut Ridge, where she's kept the same routine for eight years: do as little work as possible during the day, marathon sitcoms in the evening, and try (for the life of her) to get everyone to leave her alone.
When she loses her position at Red Ribbon's Craft Store, Beverly is left without a job and without a paycheck.
Then her estranged sister, Aimee, calls with an impossible favor: Could Beverly take care of her three nieces for six months?
It's insane.
But then there's the thirty thousand dollars that Aimee offers to pay and Beverly can't resist.
Suddenly, she's stuck taking care of three little girls, trying not to kill the soccer moms at the snobby Percival Academy, and joining the PTO.
Now Beverly--self-serving, sarcastic, and problematic--must take on the role of a loving parent. And she is anything but.

Tug-at-your-heartstrings new adult first love story. What starts as a bet to avoid cleanup duties at her minimum wage cashier job, wins Amelie D'Amico more than she's ever hoped for. When Ben, a cute customer who always checkouts at her register, finally speaks to her, his interest in cooking make her only more curious. Amelie's always been terrible at recipes and trust, but with each passing day, Ben proves that when the right person comes along to show the way, it's easy. As their friendship grows, he confesses that he's never dated before and asks Amelie to be his relationship coach. Flattered as she is, she should say no. Her love life is a disaster, and she's hardly the best person to assist him, yet she can't resist his smile or his searching blue eyes. Preparing Ben for his first ever date with a woman who clearly likes him seems simple enough, until helping him score his first kiss becomes the last thing Amelie wants to do for her...friend. How could she begin something she's unable to finish? Telling Ben she wants to be more than his buddy wouldn't be a problem if leaving the US at the end of the semester to pursue a PhD in France wasn't her focus. "You ungrateful bitch. I keep a roof over your head, and this is the thanks I get?" "You could have killed her," I retort, trying to muster up confidence that I don't possess. "What if she goes to the cops, Dad? That bruise on her face is enough to get you arrested and charged with assault." "What? You mean when she tripped over the mess you made in the kitchen?" His smile is so wicked that it chills me to my core. "She ain't going to the cops. Hell, she'll probably be back here tomorrow." "You're a bastard," I whisper, tears filling my eyes. "No wonder Mom left! She probably couldn't bear to spend another second with-" I'm pushed to the floor. I scramble backwards as he approaches me, his cheeks scarlet with rage, his pupils the size of needle points. In fourteen years, I've never seen him this mad. My Life with the Walter Boys [Published Version Sample]

6 parts Complete

Jackie does not like surprises. Chaos is the enemy! The best way to get her successful, busy parents to notice her is to be perfect. The perfect look, the perfect grades--the perfect daughter. And then... Surprise #1: Jackie's family dies in a freak car accident. Surprise #2: Jackie has to move cross-country to live with the Walters-her new guardians. Surprise #3: The Walters have twelve sons. (Well, eleven, but Parker acts like a boy anyway) Now Jackie must trade in her Type A personality and New York City apartment for a Colorado ranch and all the wild Walter boys who come with it. Jackie is surrounded by the enemy--loud, dirty, annoying boys who have no concept of personal space. Okay, several of the oldest guys are flat-out gorgeous. But still annoying. She's not stuck-up or boring--no matter what they say. But proving it is another matter. How can she fit in and move on when she needs to keep her parents' memory alive by living up to the promise of perfect?
