Mark still lives with his mom. He lost his hearing at a young age due to illness and she blames herself. His mother doesn't want him leaving the house to get more hurt. Instead he stays at home and is completing online college courses.
Jack works three jobs because his mom can't walk and can't support herself. He's in charge of all the bills. He wants a life out of his house, with friends, he wants to go to college, but that reality seems so far away.
Can these two people who are so different have a connection?
