Lila's whole life gets turned upside down when her life is uprooted and social status is changed. Lila was fine with is just being her and her mom- they didn't need a man ever since her dad walked out. -Story Excerpt- "I suck," I say to myself as I bang my head against the table again. "Need help?" I bring my head up fast enough to get whiplash as I look up at the voice of the stranger in the library. My eyes connect with a pair of brown one's and I feel my heart start to hammer in my chest. Asher Greggs is talking to me. Holy. F*cking. Sh*t. "What?" I ask in a moment of total confusion. I had no idea that Asher was friends with Nolan. Asher isn't on the football team like Nolan, he's the captain of the soccer team. I absolutely cannot believe that he's here standing in front of me, hands tucking in his pockets and hair slightly messy. "I asked if you need help. I tutor Calc and heard you complaining from the hallway," Asher's smile is easy and laidback, showing off his crazy perfect smile. I have to tear my eyes away in order to think clearly, still in shock that he's here talking to me. "Um yeah, that would be great actually. Thanks," I give him a small smile before moving my clutter so that he has a place to sit beside me. His beautiful smile and deep eyes leave me in a trance as he walks to the brown leather chair on my right and sits down, scooting slightly closer to me as he takes in the math problem I've been trying to solve for the past ten minutes. "It's Lila, right?" Asher asks after looking at my paper for second. His eyes flicker back to mine as he awaits my confirmation- which I give to him in the form of a slight nod. "I'm Asher. I've seen you around school, right?" I give him another nod before clearing my throat and turning back to my paper, trying to hide the obvious blush in my cheeks, "Calculus?" "Right." *(Contains language and mild adult themes.) **(I do not own the cover photo. Photo by Marco Perretta on Unsplash)

Even from far away, all I could see was you. "Who is who?" Derek asked, unfazed, sipping on the remainder of his protein shake from class. "Her." I didn't point to you, to avoid being too obvious, so I nodded my head in the most subtle way. "Laughing, smiling. Do you see her?" "The girl with the guy hanging off of her who's clearly her boyfriend? I think he plays on the varsity team. She's probably a cheerleader." I pretty much ignored everything he said. I didn't care. I was already too far gone and into you. "I have to have her." He must have found that incredibly hilarious because he almost choked on the remainder of his protein shake. "Good luck, kid." "What?" I took my eyes off of you for a second and gave Derek a look. "You can't picture it?" "How blinded by her are you right now?" He waved his hand in front of my face and I pushed it away as he attempted to connect the dots for me again. "I repeat: cheerleader, guy, out of your fucking league." "Hey, let's not make assumptions now. She could be into girls and not even know it. Oh my god, she just smiled at me. Did you see that? Were you looking?" I was in love with you the second you walked into my sight. "There's a lot going on in this vicinity," he laughed and I shoved him as he taunted me. "Jerk. I'm gonna talk to her."
