In the quantum age of the year 2744 A.E., humankind has begun to colonize the universe. Overseen by three governmental institutions, spanning galaxies, simmering with underlying political tensions-The United Federation, The Republic and The Intergalactic Alliance have agreed to aid in its expansion, maintaining a fragile armistice of peace in the process.

The discovery of ability-wielding humans has transformed the landscape of war, sparking research into human evolution. Those with abilities have influenced socioeconomic hierarchies, reshaping planetary cultures and societies across the universe, as their government seeks to coerce them into their military ranks.

At nineteen-years old, Earth-born, Theresa Sorenson sought to provide a better life for herself. With an aptitude for science, Theresa earned her PhD in Biophysics and Math. However, nothing could prepare her for the hidden elemental ability she possessed, plunging her into a different life than the one she's known.

With the elemental ability to manipulate water, Theresa is forced to cooperate with The United Federation and attend Sacred One-a school for those with special abilities. Not yielding so easily, Theresa has a plan to liberate herself from the United Federation, hell-bent on keeping her on their side.

Twenty-seven year old Xavier Reston, is a powerful forbidden ability user. Rumored to have been one of the youngest to be inducted into the United Federation for his exceptional abilities and his ruthless efficiency, Xavier is revered and feared by those around him.

When Theresa and Xavier cross paths, neither is prepared for the events that happen, forcing them to work together. An unlikely relationship develops, taking them across galaxies in an effort to regain their freedom. Xavier is thrown off by the opinionated and intelligent woman and Theresa is forced to reassess her opinion of Xavier.

What is Theresa to do when she discovers that she's more powerful than she realizes?

Now, after a war that nearly erased humanity, people are forced to live a strict, dull, communist lifestyle. Everyone seems okay with this way of life. Everyone except Maxine. Maxine had always been special; she was often able to predict events. How? She didn't exactly know...yet. When she starts having dreams about a tropical island where people live as they did in the 21st century, she meets the man of her dreams: literally. Her new boiling emotions bring her to wonder...what if it's a real place? When she starts her search for the island and bumps into Elis-the man in her dreams-she suddenly knows it wasn't all just a making of her imagination. Finding that island could mean finding the answers to her burning questions, and maybe even answers to questions she didn't know she had. However, not everything is what she thought it would be when she finally finds the island, and her dreams become a harsh reality. Elis turns out to be someone else, and when another man swoops in every time Maxine is in danger, she becomes confused about what love really is. The Advisors, the ten women governing the world, want to assimilate the people of the island, not knowing that those people have an extreme advantage over them. Maxine also learns that her family has been lying to her about who she really is. Ultimately, when the Advisors come to destroy the island, she must face the fact that she is the key to the island's salvation, and embracing her rapidly developing abilities is the only way to do so.
