"Hey, smartass." I greet Hermione with a grin as I sit on the chair next to her. The library is pretty much empty so I can afford to speak a little louder than I usually have to.
"What does that even mean? You've been saying it to me for ages and I still don't know why." She says with an annoyed tone, looking away from her parchment for a moment to look at me.
"Funny you should ask." I answer, my grin broadening even more. "It's the American term for know-it-all. I heard it on a muggle movie this summer and I thought it would fit you perfectly."
Hermione rolls her eyes and starts writing on her parchment again, not even bothering to answer.
I smile when I see the end of her lips slightly curve, forming a smirk.
