High Card Bluff (House of Cards Series 5)

Tom Guerrero is used to working in the mechanic shop for his father and running the odd job for his mother's private investigator business when he isn't trying to lead his own life, but one job for his mother is pulling him in too deep. He is trying to help his mother figure out the connections of a smuggling ring hiding as rally parties, and is enjoying that world almost a little too much. Right up until the moment he spots a familiar, and unwanted, face at one of the weekend rallies. Adrianna Vega, his best friend's little sister is there and on the arm of one of the men trying to buy into the smuggling world. Before things can go south for him though, Adri has shown that she is more than capable of handling herself in that world. So when Tom finds himself having to step in to watch her back while she acts as a beautiful distraction, it's almost second nature. The only problem is that in the name of a cover story they have to act like lovers and Tom is quickly realizing that this is one cover story he wants to make all too real.
