Thirty years after a series of apocalyptic events in Western America, the U.S is still struggling, falling a victim of greed and corruption. Radiation had triggered the deaths and sicknesses of millions of Americans. And where western America stands is nothing but ruins. Seventeen year-old Evanglia has been born and raised in the deteriorating country, living the bulk of her life clueless to her dark past.
Lia had always wondered why she was so smart and how she could manipulate the human mind. She never thought she was normal, especially with the dreams she has that suggest a life far different than the one she knows; a life right dead center of corruption. It isn't until her best—and equally talented—friend, Hank, starts acting strange for her to realize that her dreams aren't just dreams, they are memories from a dark past she was brainwashed to forget. Lia then realizes that she and Hank were born with a genetic mutation caused from the radiation that ravaged the country, and they were the test subjects for scientists wanting to know more information about the defects. Shortly after making their discovery, the company responsible for the testing done on the two as children comes back for them. After teaming up with more mutants who had been test subjects, Hank and Lia are on the run, trying to escape to somewhere they don’t know exist. But with enemies fallowing their every move, will they make it alive? Will they ever figure out the mystery behind their DNA mutilation? There's only one way to find out, by reading this thrilling sci-fi action novel that will captivate you in its story from the very first sentence.

"I could feel it. The full strength of my brother's power. I didn't know how far away he was, but he definitely wasn't nearby. And yet still, he was able to reach me. Able to trinkle into my humans thoughts and fully capture the falcon's mind with absolute power. I knew my brother was scared. That fear was what made him reach out. He didn't know what Giovanna and Leona had in for him. Or worse: he did. Even though I knew by brother was afraid I also knew was a force to be reckoned with. And although Giovanna had him, he wasn't going down without a fight. He didn't have to tell me he would help us find him. I already knew. Any information he sent to me was important. " Part of Celeste is relieved that the people with the big guns have showed up to help, but another part of her is beginning to tear at the seams from the pressure she's endured. 100 years ago, amidst WW3's nuclear bombing, a deadly virus was released in the atmosphere and nearly wiping out the humanity. It lives inside the human brain thriving on the empathy receptors, leading to irrational behaviour and ultimately brain death. To slow the damage, scientists created L.O.V.E, short for Living Off Vital Emotions, a nanovaccine that numbs the virus and switches off all strong emotions. As a last resort and with a dying planet, the Supreme Government created the City, a place to contain the infected survivors suitable for the experiment. Those in the first stages of illness became ideal candidates to receive the neuroinhibitor. Having their feelings restrained and their memory altered, those who come of age are designated a life partner through a Selection process, thus preserving the humankind. A few decades after the trial had started, scientists had a major breakthrough. The nanites, which are highly chemically reactive organisms, are changing their bio-engineered purpose when dopamine levels are high. With a new generation of nanoids, stronger and smarter to fight the battle, the virus doesn't have a chance. Many attempts were made to create a man-made version of synthetic dopamine and each time the outcome was a disaster. Their goal is to create new generations, immune to the virus. These are called Purebloods, the offsprings of those who find pure love, the only cure to save them from a violent death. Running out of time, the Experiment entered in its final stages. To minimize the threats, the Colonies have sent their best soldiers to oversee the trial and protect its key subjects. If only things were going according to plan, or better...stay hidden. With Iron Guard, the resistance outside the walls, hunting the Purebloods too, will the trial save human race before it's too late? #3 in #dystopianfuture (27.06.2020)

I couldn't breathe. I couldn't see. An intense bubbling pressure filled my mind and a burning pain filled my body like lava. Was I moving? Fighting? I couldn't even tell. The pain is unbearable, and I have never felt so detached from my mind ever before. Is this death? All at once the fiery burning pain that filled my veins turned to ice, and a new pain formed, sending my body into a shock. I could feel my teeth chattering like a woodpecker on wood, and hear it slightly also; Why can I shiver but not scream? My thoughts didn't carry far, as I felt my body come slightly back into my control, the pain still under my skin and ears ringing. I started thrashing and yelling due to my new found control of my body. My voice sounded foreign to my ears, and came out more a gargle than a yell, something was in my mouth. I felt hands against my arms, restraining me and voices speaking quickly and hushed. A sharp pain in my neck brought me darkness and the pain finally stopped. Number Three is thrown into a confusing trial of tests regarding her new found abilities and developments, although she is left with no memory of what was before. All she knows is that her existence is for Project Interitus, or that's at least what the doctors who run the facility say. Luckily for her she isn't alone in these new found discoveries, three colleagues join her, One, Four, and Seven. All of them are wary and unsure of the facility in which they stay, nor trusting of the people who run the trials, as they continue to dismiss and silence any questions or thoughts they have regarding how they came to be or what they're there for. Memories resurface, and curiosity grows stronger as this group of test subjects become closer and more intuitive, making it more of a challenge for them to be controlled without rebellion. What is the purpose of her abilities? Will Three ever regain her memories of the past or did she never have one to begin with? Lets just hope she survives.
