Even Tennec is a company investigator, with a reputation for achieving results no matter the cost to others or himself. Even has secrets. Some secrets even the company does not know. But secrets are everyday life on Rosenrot Station.

Ezra thought his grades would get him posted to a place in the Navy that reflected his ability, something like First Fleet, the Raiding Nine, or even Home Guard. Humanity's enemy the Preshk where attacking more often and Ezra wanted to be contributing directly to the war effort. Instead he got put on a Scout ship with just one other soul and sent on a five month mission out into deep space. The mission quickly becomes more than the young commander could have ever expected and the fate of humanity lies in how fast he can return back to humanity. This short story is just over 18,000 words and contains sexual content between two men, so If that's not your cup of tea.. don't read :) This is my first attempt at something like this, so feedback is welcome, though be nice :)

"You are medically compromised and unfit for-" I jumped when he turned, rushed the glass, and slammed his hands against it, his deep blue eyes piercing through me like daggers. His voice was level again, but it was the kind of quiet that was dangerous, that was a warning that this was the last chance. "This is my ship. I'm the captain. Let me out, Thalia, or I'll break out. You're not gonna like what I do if it gets that far."
