There are a lot of things you don't really think about until they happen to you. Take rape, for instance. I always thought, "That won't happen to me. I have a boyfriend. I trust him. He would never take advantage of me like that..." I couldn't have been more wrong. Love in this day and age is often confused for manipulation and abuse. The warning signs are here. The things we say will tell us everything that is wrong. You are worth more than what you think you are. It's not your fault. If they tell you otherwise, get out. Burn the bridge. Always remember someone is waiting for you to walk into their life. Someone needs you. Someone loves you. Getting away from all of the wrong people and finding the right ones could save you. I can promise you right now that it saved me. These are the journal entries and selected poems from my first experience of love that left a unpleasant taste in my mouth- quite literally. I am putting this out for the whole world to see because I hope everyone will learn from my experience. People can see. We have no excuses to continue living our lives in ignorance. ...WARNING... -A first person story of surviving wlw sexual assault, abusive relationships, gaslighting and childhood anxiety. -the book where every story matters and each voice deserves to be heard. -This book is based on a true story and personal experiences, I've recently written this after struggling with processing my abuse and assault so this book really means the world to me. You guys are the first people to read it so I really hope you enjoy it and if you are in a similar situation I hope this brings you some form of comfort, like a warm hug in the form of words. -There is not nearly enough awareness around women on women sexual assault so I'm here to do my part and add my drop into the ocean. -When this book is published (and turned into an actual book lol) it will have a special section at the back for the reader to personalise if they don't have anyone to talk to or just want to get their feelings written down. This section will also offer support, statistics and advice from someone who has been in the same position. -Any funds made when I publish this book will be going to a chosen sa survivors charity. This book is about how to overcome, more like learn to live with and co-exist with, depression and self-doubt. And how people around you may act a certain way but could be far from what is really happening with them. In other words, anyone around you can smile and laugh all they want but once they are by themselves... they break completely. This book touches on sensitive topics that have scarred and hurt people of all colors, ethnicities, nationalities, sexualities and genders. There are mentions of hate crimes, racism, manipulation, depression, self harm, suicide, and sexual and mental abuse. If you have experienced any of these things, my heart goes out to you. Each of these characters has their own things they deal with behind closed doors... each of them a part of myself. A book that is coming from a fellow Eccedentesiast. Eccedentesiast; (noun) someone who hides pain behind a smile. I knew who my mate was the day I turned 16. It was my brothers best friend. Can you believe it? And I only had a second of happiness in knowing before he outright rejected me. It was horrible. But being raped and locked up only to have it repeat the next day was unbearable. That was what I had to go through just a few years ago, and after a couple of weeks, I turned up pregnant. I was innocent before all of that. And I had thought that was the end of my life. My parents wanted to get rid of 'it' the 'abomination' but she was mine, in all the best and worst ways. I kept her, my parents learned to accept her while I was still pregnant, my mom even cried when we first heard her heart beat. When I turned 18, I thought my life was getting better, but I was wrong.
