Marissa Parker, an exhausted, twenty one year old girl, had been working for Dunder Mifflin for a few months now, as Michael Scott's secretary, and sales girl. 

Working there was stressful enough, along with being a waitress on the side, only on weekends.

She had enough drama going on in her life to take to work with her, she didn't need any more of it FROM work. 

Despite having Dwight Schrute being insanely jealous of her position, and her relationship (non-romantically) with their boss, they still seem to manage being the good friends they are, helping each other through the untidy messes of the work day.

Getting through the day was the most important thing, at the end of the day.
Having a goal, sticking to it, and getting through it.

That's how it was, for Marissa.
