"You were what?" My heart rose to my throat and there it stayed. A flurry of love, anger, hope and agony whipped around my body like a tornado.
"Pregnant," tears pricked in her eyes matching my own. My Persephone was pregnant.
"Was it mine?" She didn't look at me, instead the tears poured down her tanned cheeks, splashing into a puddle on the table in front of us. My hand had automatically stopped rubbing her back, we couldn't have gotten much closer but the gap felt huge.
"Yes," she sobbed.
"What happened to the ba..b.. what happened to my baby?" She shook her head, "Please tell me you didn't have an abortion," I was now crying alongside her.
"I didn't,"

The day had started as usual, with the promise of a calm and uneventful Sunday. The office was quieter than usual, the hum of computers and the occasional phone call creating a serene backdrop. I had taken a moment to escape the confines of my cubicle and retreat to the restroom, seeking a brief respite fbefore the meeeting. That's when she barged in, her voice a sharp contrast to the tranquillity. The familiarity of her presence was like a shock to my system, bringing with it a wave of memories. The last time I saw her, it was under very different circumstances. I watched as she fumbled with her bag, clearly agitated. Her long, silky hair was the same, cascading down her back like a waterfall. It was a sight that stirred something deep within me. I remembered how that hair used to brush against my skin, a sensation both comforting and thrilling. "Ma'am, I believe this is the men's toilet," I said, trying to keep my voice steady as I washed my hands. I could see the water on the floor, a hazard waiting to happen. "Is it? Who cares? I just need to wash my hands," she mumbled, not even looking up. "You should be careful with your heels. The floor is slippery," I warned. Just as I spoke, she turned towards me, her heel skidding on the wet tile. Instinct took over, and I reached out, grabbing her waist to prevent her from falling. For a moment, time seemed to freeze. Her hair fell over her face, and the scent of her perfume filled the air. It was a heady mix of familiarity and something new, something that spoke of changes and time passed. She quickly composed herself, standing up straight and fixing her hair and shirt. When she finally looked at me, her eyes widened in recognition. "You?" she asked, her voice a mix of fury and surprise. "You?" I echoed, equally taken aback.

Synopsis _ What I said to him and his hand on my stomach was like stimulator, before I knew it I found myself on the floor. I placed my hand on my abdomen, in an attempt to protect our unborn baby. "Oomph" I groaned at the pain, as my butt hit the floor. Nate stood staring at me, with red eyes. To be precise, my stomach. I used my left hand which I used to prop myself from the fall, after he pushed me in an attempt to assist my right hand in protecting my stomach. It was bone chilling. I was so frightened, i could feel cold sweat on my forehead. "Let go of me you bastard" I said trying to loosen his grip from my hair. He only let go after he pulled me to the coffee table , in a kneeling position. "Now fucking sign it, don't let me completely lose my temper. Or I swear to God, you won't believe what's going to happen to you" My red hair fell loosely on my face, the pain from my scalp was evident to what Nate could do if I resisted. - Everybody seems to crave tales of unlikely love, like the rich boy and poor girl or the rich heir and humble maid. I wish more stories would focus on the authenticity of human experiences rather than make such clichéd storylines. My story is a testament to resilience and perseverance through misfortune. What I've gone through has been nothing but "expect the unexpected." 'My name is Ashley, his ex-wife.' ╰┈➤ ❝ [I stood there in unequivocal revelation, the lagging pain slowly catching up with me, but before I could release a fraction of the pain into my screaming, a bell rang, and suddenly, pilfered from my body was the ability to move. My face neutral and my muscles disabled as I fell face-first into the hard, scathing rock that lay unmoved before me.] 》* 。 • ˚ ˚ ˛ * 。° 。 • ˚《 Imagine awakening in an environment you deemed unfamiliar, your back thrumming in pain, with your mind staying clear of how you ended up there or simply the moments that lead to your position. You try to find a way out and later realize that you can't even remember who you are; your memories purged, your identity unknown. It takes you a good amount of time, pain, and effort, and eventually you manage to gather tiny fragments of who you were along with the trauma of how you retrieved it, but it's okay, maybe it's all worth it as you finally make contact with another person. Turns out she was your best friend. Finally, it looks like all is turning up until you learn of all the inhumane things you've done in your past, things that evade your newfound morals, things that were so detrimental to society that when you hear the reason as to why you've been enduring such agony, you understand why. How many people did you even end up hurting? What did you do that was so bad, that it made millions wish the absolute worst of you? What will you do now?
