In a world where soul mates and magic exists, every child is born with a tattoo on their forearm and a power which is only gained at the age of eighteen. For a person to find their soul mate, they must find that one person with the other half of their tattoo. By law, every man and woman up to the age eighteen must cover their mark, in other words, until the person is educated and mature enough to have a Soul mate. 

Seventeen-year-old Skylar Summers is an orphan and always has been since she was left on an orphanage doorstep with just a letter addressed for her to open on her eighteenth birthday at just days old; from her parents. She craves for answers, to no longer be ignorant about her past, to know who her parents are and maybe, just maybe, find her destiny that would fix her paralysed heart.
