How much can you trust them, that is, if you can trust them at all. --- An-Ki Naya, the third daughter of the Assyrian dynasty of Kinkha which held a short lived rule on the Persian Empire, gets abducted and brought in as a slave after a complete end to her family line. No one and nothing is left of the once mighty history of Mesopotamia, the sole rubble being her hope which is shattered by the regret of being alive. Persia expresses immense contentment with the end of the mortal enemy and takes the peace as an indicator for a rule of serenity. Only, it isn't quite so. The most treacherous member of the Kinkha blood is still alive, a threat which wasn't taken under consideration since the time she was born. An impending conspiracy dawns with her which includes many participants hidden within the empire under the forged veils of loyalty. The Tyrant's Queen by coko_rose
75 parts Ongoing Mature
"I am bored, my Queen. So, entertain me." ~ * ~ Young Prince Lucien of Aesna is more suited for the countryside than the royal palace of fatal mind games and seasonal assassinations. Despite being shunned for being born to a palace maid, Lucien practices utmost loyalty as a soldier, leading battles for his country. That's until one day, he's captured and tortured as hostage, then used as a bargaining chip for Aesna's enemies to get back a valuable piece of land. But there is no bargain- Lucien, almost promptly, is given up by his own country. Years later a bloody coup breaks out between the two princes of Aesna, leaving all men of royal blood dead or crippled. With two neighboring countries waiting to pounce on the destabilized nation, the royal officials get back Prince Lucien in exchange for the land he was given up for. They welcome the prince as king, remembering the soft-hearted and naïve boy and ready to easily control him as puppet king with bribes, flattery and threats. But the man they put on the throne, is more madman than king, more beast than human, heralding another bloodbath in Aesna. ~ * ~ To avoid being forced to work as a bar girl, May lives as boy "Toma" in a small town of Aesna. But one day a man offers to pay off all her debts- in exchange for marrying him. Little does she know he's the mad, new king of Aesna. ~ * ~ His callused hand cupped the back of her head and lifted her face. He wasn't harsh, but he wasn't gentle, either. The smell of the wine on his breath was hot on her face. "...You yourself know the answer, sire." Lucien's eyes slipped from her eyes, to her lips. "Oh, do I?" he growled. His mouth swooped in without any tenderness, and his hand seized and tightened around the back of her neck, yanking her close to him. ** "Are you done, sire? Or do you order me to love you?" ** Started uploads: 5 Aug 2022 -1K: 12 chapters uploaded, 3 Nov 2022

The Solar Princess

10 parts Complete Mature

Kingship, the ultimate power in the ancient world. To the Egyptians, it was a power passed through the female line. Only the husband of the Solar Princess could be king. A recently discovered tomb in 1883 opens a glimpse into the depths of political ambisions and power plays from centuries before. When the gods dabble, the horrors of the past have a way of coming back to haunt the world once again. ********** This is a short story. I hope you like it. I would love to hear feedback on this. I set this as mature just to be sure. I don't give overly explicit details of violence or sex, however, the story does delve into topics of a more mature nature. It is also a work of fiction that I wrote. Please do not copy any part of this story. I do not own the rights to the photos posted. Those are just images I found online and the rights go to the original owners. Thank you. As for the names of the characters, I pulled all of the names during the historical periods from actual history. So, I am sorry if the names are odd or difficult to follow, it is set during a specific reign and the historical people around the royal palace. I really enjoy writing from actual history as much as possible when I do delve into history. If people like this, I may try to work on a longer story of a historical romance in the Ottoman courts.
