the encountered of Mary Queen of Scots
there had been a lot of talk in the village about
Mary Queen of Scots visiting Gilbert field castle and then walking around the castle at night carrying her head under her left arm and walking around the castle after she was beheaded .my sister and I and some friends decided to visit the castle and see for ourselves we walked up to the castle door and stopped we wondered how we might open the door because it was heavy .that was a scary moment I could tell you we walked slowly through the door looking around all the time and then the door closed by itself with a groan.i wanted to leave at that point but we kept on anyway.in the great Hall we saw a lot of pictures of old Scottish nobles from maybe around 1530 or before that they all seemed to be watching us as we walked along and it felt very creepy we entered the main room which had a fire place and above this fire place there was a large picture of Mary Queen of Scots I have provided a picture of her . suddenly she jumped out the picture with a great scream .(whaur.s ma Heid )that means (where is my head)my father told me .it was a scary moment and we all rushed to the door together.shr was carrying an axe and manage to chop off my leg.with a mighty effort my sister and her friends dragged the door open and carried me out of there
as soon as we were out the door slammed behind us and the castle shook. I had to get a new leg and it was only a black one sewn on.as legs were in short supply during the war
