I backed into the door he slugged me, but not enoughto make me cry, but it still hurt. I got the door open and ran as fast as I could. I walk into the house, drunk, banged up, and late for curfew. It was a month after my parents died, I was fourteen and just came back from a wild party. "Basil Leaf Curtis, where have you been?" Darry screamed through out the house. "Dar, I was just having fun," I slurred, laughing a little at the end then going to walk in and falling on my ass. "Basil, were you at another party?" He screamed looking into my glazed eyes. "No, and if I was I ain't stupid enough to tell you," I laughed. "You know what if you're going to act like this then you can just do us all a favor and get our, we'll be better off without you!" He screamed showing me the door. I ran upstairs grabbing my stuff, I looked at Sodapop and Ponyboy kissing both of their heads, I walked out of the room slightly crying. Then I stormed downstairs, when Darry kicked me out I sobered up fast. I looked at him dead in the eyes yelling, "I HATE YOU DARREL CURTIS! I FUCKING HATE YOU!" As I yelled that I saw something in his eyes, I've never seen before, it looked like guilt, he opened up his mouth but, I ran out of the house and never looked back.

Darrel is stressed with work and taking care of his two brothers and was getting angry a lot recently. Sodapop felt disconnected and almost sick all of the time and was very tired of being a middleman to his brothers all the time. Ponyboy was struggling with his sexual orientation and was scared what others would say when he realised he had fallen in love with, not even a girl, but Johnny Cade. Really just me trauma-dumping onto all of the Curtis brothers and adding Darrel's anger issues to the mix.

They were so similar but so damn different, at times they would lock into each other's beautiful hazel eyes and remember how much they need each other. How much they truly mean to each other. They would say I hate you but really they can't live with out each other. They always tried avoiding one another and separating but it never worked, they always ended up with each other. Even if they did hate each other. They never expected to slowly fall for each other. ఌ "I hate you" my blood boiled with rage, I felt like punching him or scream at him. My heart beat like a drum. A drop of sweat slowly rolled down his temple. "Say it again" he clenched his jaw and got closer to me. "I fucking hate you. Did you hear me! Did you hear what I said?! I hate you?!" I felt his hand around my throat. He looked into my eyes as I looked into his. "I hate you" I said softly feeling his hand run down my chest. "I despise you" he left walking away leaving me with want and hate.
