BE QUIET OR THEY WILL HEAR YOU

Meet Blythe, a girl not too fond of talking, surviving school and bullies. Her life is changed when she passes the first test.

She is thrown into locked room and when she tries to call for help, she is gassed.

She has become Cadet Blythe. She can't leave, she had lost that privilege and her free will when she passed that first test.

She wakes up and is poked and prodded during a medical exam where she 'meets' Colin.

Colin who talks too loudly. Colin who knows too much. Colin who she thinks is a higher up's son.

She learns about the Soundless believed to be extraterrestrial creatures. Aliens that the government has been keeping a secret.

She is stuck with a group of misfits as her team. They are tested on Sciences, Logic and Decision-Making. And other things they have left unsaid.

Blythe knows they test for humanity as well. 'Would you save a human enemy or an unknown entity?'

Of course, she would save the unknown entity. Who would save an enemy even if they were human?

She knows her answer is wrong so she lies, 'Human enemy,' she writes. Because SeDAS is watching her. She has no proof, she just knows.

What was it that SeDAS said?

"Loyalty to humankind is the first requirement of succeeding in this endeavour, Cadets."

Three of her teammates are "Failed" before she even gets to know their names.

On every passing day, her team and many others have to take an oath. An oath they don't quite understand the severity of the promise. At least, not Blythe.

"We don't know what they are."

"We don't know where they came from."

"We know they won't leave."

And it ends with,

"We will do everything we can to rid the Earth of them."
