Percy Jackson is not a good person. At least, not anymore. Percy has been through a lot. Annabeth is dead and his few remaining friends are scattered across America. Percy's been loyal and heroic his whole life, he's always done what the gods asked. And they have only ever repaid him with pain and indifference. So now it's his turn. His longing for justice is growing and the more bitter he becomes, the more it sinks in that without Annabeth, he has nothing left to fight for. But then again, there's nothing holding him back. Revenge is something that has long been above Percy. But at the end of the day, at least it's something to fight for. The gods have forgotten that loyalty goes both ways. Nicholaus Downes is being charged with first degree murder of his girlfriend Cassandra Rye. Amelia Perry is one of the jurors on the Downes case and from the moment Amelia's eyes met Nicholaus's in the courtroom, she is not only attracted to him, but she believes that that he is innocent. As the case is presented and the evidence only proves his guilt how can she send the accused to jail when she doesn't think he did it? Can she make the other jurors see that he didn't commit the crime they say he did? Amelia's friend Bridgette Logan has been following the Downes case from the moment it was in the news. Not that she knew Cassandra, but they had some connections, and she believed that Nicholaus Downes is innocent too.
