It is said that there once lived a Phoenix in Arabia. This Phoenix was the only one of its kind, though after 500 years had perished to ashes along with its nest.
With this well-known myth comes the story of Asia and her experience with the Phoenix. Although the bird was long gone with the wind, the story still lingered.
Asia was an orphan, raped and beaten by her father up until he died with no known reason. She was pathetic and hopeless until she came across a quite peculiar sight.
A single feather, dancing with the wind. It was large with bright reds and oranges sparking from the vane. The afterfeathers growled like burning flames and the barb flickered and trailed the air. Little did Asia know that this feather would not only change her life but reincarnate her into a completely new human being. But so begs the question... Are there more of these majestic tail feathers around the globe and has anyone else occupied them?

Wild Hearted
This story begins in the country of Britannia. A country where several certain races live with one another. And at the center of these races stood a girl. A beautiful girl with wild molten hair and eyes that reflected the universe. She was the creation of love and the child of wilderness. She was someone full of wisdom, wisdom she had gathered from centuries of experience. Many don't know how she was born, some saying that she was the daughter of the blazing sun while others say that she was born from ashes during an alluring eclipse. The name they called her? Malaika Kya. Angel from the diamond sky. For eons she wandered, visiting many kingdoms and gaining many friends. She battled battles that many would have died from, protecting those she holds dear. Slowly, her family began to grow. Person by person, home by home, kingdom by kingdom. Her heart spreading the biggest of wings. But then it happened. The one she loved most was attacked, almost dying because of someone's idiocy. And so she fought. She fought for her dying family, soon gaining the powers of the internal flame buried deep inside her. Screeching her painful cry, she fought in her new form with all her might. But it wasn't enough as it's hand sprouted from her body. Tears fell from the eyes of her lover, his eyes wide as he watched her body wither in pain. All grandfathers are alike, each one tells you stories about wars or the good old days. But not my Grandfather. He was a storyteller, but his stories were always different. He would just come up with the stories, and they would be so enrapturing to me. It hooked me from the beginning until the moment I had to leave. But then one day, he told me a story that would change everything for me and my Father. This story called the Phoenix Girl. It's a story of a girl who goes through hardships and struggles in her everyday life. They punish her for things she has no control over, but then she faces it all. She is reborn from the ashes of the flames that had consumed her. She is stronger. But what if this isn't just some story that my grandpa came up with? What if something connected her to my family? In a world of gods, pirates, and blessings, Phoenix Finch lives in a small coastal town secluded from the rest of the world. As he is introduced to more and more of the crew, he finds that maybe, Pirates aren't as bad as he thought, and maybe the captain isn't as scary as he seems. He begins to settle into the ship, finding friendship and freedom. But when his sister is kidnapped by Redcoats for her blessing, he must take action and save her along with his new friends. But Phoenix will soon find out there is more to himself, the captain, and this story, than it seems. - - - This is the first draft of my novel, which took about a year to write. My mother says my endless curiosity and my need to venture is a curse.
