Fantasy novel | gay romance sub-plot| poc main character.

An heir to a monarchy threatened by a popular revolution forges an alliance with an amnesiac man who could have forgotten links to the rebellion.
                                  - - -
Heron, Monarch-in-Prospect of Ceres, lost his mother to an icy storm. Two years later he still battles with the grief.

The storm is back. And Heron finds a man trapped unconscious in the middle of the cold winds. His vital signs are odd and the only thing he remembers is his name : Davir.

Heron provides Davir with medical care and finds in the stranger the opportunity to have a pawn in the royal guard. An alibi to buy himself liberty from the control of the ruling council of the capital. An indebted man is a man easy to persuade, and Davir acts as intended.

As a popular rebellion against the Monarchy festers in the capital, Heron's new-found liberty soon leads him to cross paths with the rebels. An unsettling discovery comes to the surface: he'd been lied to about the death of his mother by the ruling council.

Suspicious that he's, too, a pawn trapped in a tangle of political interests he cares little for, Heron is determined to get to the bottom of the secrets kept from him. Davir's military abilities could be of great help.

Davir, too, needs Heron's ressources to discover his forgotten identity. An alliance between the two is then formed. But the clues leading to Davir's past point toward where they shouldn't : the rebellion and dark, sinful, supernatural arts of soul eaters.

As long as people believed that there was a division between the Gifted and the non-Gifted, that one was superior to the other, I wasn't done. As long as there were kings on thrones to reinforce the idea that people like Porter and Briar and everyone else I cared about were unworthy of this world, I wasn't done. "And then," I continued, a resolution forming in my mind. "I'm going to destroy those six thrones." ********************************************** Wren Heatherfield has been through hell and back, surviving the deadly trials of the Garner and claiming the title of Garner Champion. However, her fight is far from over, with the real challenges only just beginning. For what reason does one wake up every day? People had always thought the life of ISAAC RUIZ couldn't be more perfect. Everything he wanted, he would get with his money and influence. What anyone didn't know was his real motivation to keep on living -- something that was silly for others, but a salvation for him. For office employee FLORENCE VILLENA, there was no longer any meaning to his existence. Nothing could fill the void he had been experiencing inside him anymore, and he was convinced the world was better off without him in it. At twenty-eight years old, LAURENCE VILLEGAS had a lot of reasons to wish to just sleep forever. Since losing his home and family, the universe had rarely been kind to him. And yet, he chose to survive, time and again, if only for the hope of seeing his life get a little better. On Friday the thirteenth of January 2023, fates began to entangle as Laurence died, Florence killed himself, and Isaac lost his reason to live. Nine months after the incidents, a new dawn fell upon those three lives when a dead man's soul reawakened in someone else's body. Set in a fictional Asian City called Perlientas. Mature topics: deaths, including self-killing (actual scene not depicted), mental health and other social issues, character thoughts that some may find disturbing or triggering. Despite those topics, the overall story's pretty lighthearted. Featured on: @Romance [Romantic Suspense] | September 2024 𝑷𝒂𝒅𝒂𝒖𝒌 𝑴𝒊𝒏𝒊 𝑨𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒅𝒔 𝑭𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒆 - 𝑩𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝑷𝒐𝒕𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒂𝒍 𝑪𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒈𝒐𝒓𝒚

"The curse entailed that only the blood that sought yours, can free you of the curse, until then you shall be asleep." Icarus smirked at her words, he knew where this was going as she continued, "Because your blood is-" "Poisonous and repulsive." She nodded. "So, it's unbelievable that she was the one whose blood sought yours, a human, but it did, or perhaps it was your blood that sought hers...," she mulled over it. "But it's wrong, against the natural-" she observed his gaze. Talking about some natural order of the universe was not something that would befit his ears, given that he was the very example of the abomination formed against the natural laws and order of the blood. ~~ No one knew who he was, or where he came from? But he did, and he conquered all the existing realms, hidden and not so hidden from the human world, and built his kingdom upon the ruins of his enemies. Yet, he remained a pariah. Always was. Always will be. He was Icarus. The Monster. The Legend. The Evil. The Pariah. ~~ Everyone knew her to be a scared little kitten. She looked like one too with her snowy white hair, cerulean blue eyes, and a questionable fate. ~~ What was supposed to be a ridiculous adventure, suggested by her equally ridiculous brave friend turned her life into a whirlwind of crazy and bloody, when she stumbled and accidentally awakened the sleeping, ravenous, and absolutely psychotic monster, Icarus. What made her the lucky woman to jostle him out of his centuries of sleep? As a thanks, she was rewarded with the title of being his most beloved SLAVE. Dive into their journey as we unravel their ribbons of fate, and immerse ourselves into their complicated relationship. ~~ This book is a dark fantasy romance novel and Icarus is an original fantasy character that I created. He is not a vampire or a werewolf but something entirely new and interesting.
