Marie Lockewood has been given a mission by the highest order Council in the Vampire community; find the human with special blood and kill him using any and all means necessary. Having been a highly trained agent skilled in the arts of killing, this was her most dangerous task assigned to her yet.

This human had blood with special qualities no one in her community has ever heard or smelled of before, and that makes this human irresistible to the vampires. If it was allowed to live, the entire vampire realm could be destroyed by its blood alone.

However, when she embarks on her task to go undercover in a human high school, she finds a boy named Elijah Young, a carefree teenager whose only priorities in life were to have fun, make friends, and sleep.
