International Love

Rue Brian: Headstrong, a real stubborn pig. She sneers at fantastical daydreaming and laughs in the face of danger. Often a reckless daredevil, Rue does everything she isn’t supposed to. Maybe to prove something to herself or to others, no one knows. Her grades are steadily declining, and her love life is all but nil. Unfortunately, many boys are running after her reluctant hand, and not all of them know that Rue has no intention whatsoever of actually running after them in return . . .

Jackson Leech: Known by the nickname “Jax” Jackson loves only one person. The girl with the little plaid dress who stood up and recited all fifty states in sixth grade. The girl who laughed when the bully said that he would get back at her for beating him in the track race in ninth grade. Rue Brian. Of course, no one else knows of Jax’s infatuation with her. He likes to keep it secret, his little secret. They have been best friends ever since they met, and Rue has never known his private love for her. Jax is positive no one else realizes his affection for her, but somehow his secret leaks out, and Jax and Rue will soon find themselves in the midst of a love triangle.

Darius Lynn: Darius thinks himself worthy of any girl in town, and his undying love goes to Rue. The way she holds her head, and lifts her chin at any insult. Darius has loved beautiful Rue since she walked into high school. His high school. Darius, the popular jock, is surely fit to win Rue’s heart. For some reason, however, Rue seems to consider Darius as just a friend. Darius doesn’t mind; the closer he is to Rue, the better. But soon he learns of Jax’s secret infatuation with her. Anger and hatred well up inside him. Jax! He is no more worthy of Rue than a worm is. Who in their right mind would even consider Jax as a boyfriend? No way. Jax is going to pay for this. He will not steal away Darius’s rightful girlfriend.
