A story of what would happen if Joey truly did continue to pursue being a world champion duelist after the events of Yu-Gi-Oh! Dark Side of Dimensions. It has been a year since Kaiba's visit to Atem in his own time, and he returns with nothing to show for once again. Although Mokuba is just happy to have his brother back. Kaiba has lost faith in himself as a duelist, and his arrogance and vigilance have finally folded after so many years. His company has shown silence for almost eight months, and Kaiba has disappeared into the depths of his company. Meanwhile in Domino City, Joey has chosen to tribute his life to becoming a better duelist in any way he can. He burns through everything in his path only to grow stronger, and eventually reach the top. But even the top rests sadly... Kaiba fades into insanity, knowing that he will always be number two on the inside. But Kaiba isn't quite ready to leave the life of duel monsters yet. As in a final call, he organizes his final tournament.
