          Skyler Barnes was a Black Dog - actually her entire family are Black Dogs. She was part of a species of Supernatural creatures of which were decreasing at an alarming rate. Her and her family were safe in the house of which her and her sister grew up in - until her house had been raided with bullets, causing her and her family to move to Beacon Hills after her father was caught in the crossfire of wolfsbane and silver laced bullets.

          So, from basically moving to an entirely new town, Skyler and Luna Barnes get shoved into the dramas of which the town of Beacon Hills has to offer. Oh yeah, both sisters end up being prime suspects for being this killing Kanima, they get shoved into helping fighting against an alpha pack, a dark Druid, and a Nogitsune, and on top of that they end up being part of another pack.
