What is normal? Estella Germaine would like to know. Her reality has been a lonely one filled with anxiety, panic attacks, and depression. Bounced yearly from one 'professional' to another who always wants to fix her by fixing her medication. No friends and unable to stand the touch of her own parents, Estella feels utterly alone in the world.

Junior year of high school and they're back to her childhood town and she's forced to live with the older brother who hates her, a new pushy 'professional', and a controlling mother. It should be easy, she's done the new school thing before, but add in a previous suicide attempt, a brother who's ashamed of her, and his friend who bullies her; It's not going to be as easy as any other year.

Estella starts at rock bottom living in self-loathing and her story will get worse before it gets better. In order to continue breathing she must learn to cope and rely on herself and accept that sometimes it's okay to let people in.
