Cassie Barnes loved her city life in Brooklyn, New York, with her family. She never saw it coming, but when her father Bucky was drafted into the American army and shipped out to the western front, her life changed. She made her father promise that he'd come home alive and with that, Cassie watched for the first time in her life as her hero walked out the door and into battle. However, Cassie's best friend Ryan and her older brother Dawson illegally draft in the U.S. Army, and Cassie is left with no one but her little sister Angie. When Cassie and Angie started working for the SRS as interns to Peggy Carter, they both shortly discover a plan to experiment on enemy POWs, with their father and brother's names at the top of the list. The only way to prevent this from happening? To cross-dress as men, lie about their names and ages, and draft in the U.S. Army. However, it didn't go according to plan. 60 years later, Cassie, in the form of H.Y.D.R.A.'s Project Juggernaut Winter Soldier 'Moonshadow,' resurfaces and crosses paths with her best friend Ryan, who helps her regain her conscious mind and remember who she is.
