Then there’s slack- immediate slack- and his body isn't pressed up against mine. I fall to the floor and then I’m huddled there, staring up to him through mascara ran cheeks and blurry vision. He runs his hand nervously through his hair as I pull my panties up and then the dress to cover myself. I’m shaking, I’m such an idiot. He begins to pace, his eyes never leaving me and the hallway that we are both in. I pull my knees up to my chest, trying to think but the world is swirling around me. I feel numb, I feel weightless, I feel drunk- no I feel wasted. "Rainy Days' Recovery" tells the story of two unlikely paired people; seventeen year old Amelia Reed and twenty-four year old James Clayton. Through what seems to be the worst second impression a man could give, Amelia and James find themselves stuck in a house together not knowing what to expect from the other. After all, who couldn't imagine the tension between newly appointed step-siblings after what happened? What will come of the sarcastic yet walking on eggshells girl and the cocky, arrogant beyond belief boy living under one roof? What happens when someone gets hurt- bad? He was suppose to be looking after her but he wasn't, not then. The thing is, he just might need her as much as she needs him.

DELICATE

Rain is thoughtful, introverted, but vibrant in her own space. She falls not fast, but deep. She starts from "oh you're the guy from drama night" to "I wonder what your Spotify playlists say about you" real quick. She doesn't fantasize because she's naïve. She fantasizes because her emotions are intense, but unspoken. She's afraid to ask, but too aware not to notice. And she holds back-until that one reel reply. Until the hand-holding. Until the glances that linger too long. That's when her heart outruns her logic. And once that happens... yeah, there's no turning back. Josh is a walking question mark. He doesn't flirt in the traditional, over-the-top way. But he shows up. He notices things. He plays subtle games. He's present, and then a little distant, but not cold. And he knows what he's doing-this is a guy who tests the waters. Does he like rain? Rain walked into that fest as a volunteer hoping for snacks-and walked out with memories that etched themselves onto her heart in invisible ink.
