Newt is in England, with an abusive stepfather and a non loving mother. Thomas on the other hand lives in the U.S. His parents love him and respect him. He has a best friend Minho and his sister Teresa. Newt has one friend FryPan, everyone else bullies him or leaves him alone. Newt thinks about killing himself, but hasn't yet so he just hurts himself. Thomas is the popular guy at his school, but he holds a secret that no one knows about, not even his sister or bestfriend.
