Aydın (meaning: "The enlightened one"), a Turkish man raised and shaped by Western Culture throughout his life, has had difficulties in his relationship with the nativized conservative Turkish woman Sevgi (meaning: "Love") because of big intellectual and lifestyle differences. This consequently led them breaking up. Sevgi vanished out of the blue from Aydın's life, without leaving any trace. The emptiness Aydın faced after her disappearance, lasted very long throughout years and pushed him into a hazardous depression affecting his health. Will he overcome this psychological trauma? Will he find her, or will he find something bigger about his own life/country? As the title suggests, it's not just about love, but about the illumination of love and its power to transform ignorance. It's an epic romance, which is discussing the psycho-socio-eco-political state of a torn country, stuck  between ignorance and enlightenment, namely Turkey.All Rights Reserved
