After the catastrophic fallout of a radiation bomb, humanity's remnants retreated underground into a bunker built for 400 people. For years, the survivors clung to hope, dreaming of the day Earth would be livable again. That day finally arrives. Kora Meyer, a fiery 19-year-old who has carried the weight of grief since losing her family during the evacuation, is the respected but guarded leader of the group. Her tough exterior hides a deep passion and love for the people under her care. Alongside her stands Xavier Crane, the sharp-tongued yet golden-hearted second-in-command who can lighten any tense moment with a sarcastic remark but secretly harbors an unshakable loyalty to Kora. As they lead their people back to the surface, they find an Earth transformed-not the barren wasteland they expected, but a wild and untamed paradise. However, it's not uninhabited. Scattered across the land are powerful tribes, each with its own traditions, fiercely protective of their resources, and willing to turn hostile when provoked. With danger lurking at every corner and passion igniting between them, Kora and Xavier must navigate the complexities of rebuilding civilization, forging alliances, and keeping their people safe. But as they learn more about the tribes and uncover secrets of the past, the two leaders find themselves drawn to each other in ways they never anticipated. Their chemistry is electric, their connection undeniable-and in a world where survival is uncertain, their love becomes their strongest weapon. When old betrayals and new dangers threaten to destroy the fragile balance of their newfound world, Kora and Xavier must decide how far they're willing to go to protect their people-and each other.

What Lasts in Us

52 parts Complete Mature

**COMPLETED** Several years after the world succumbed to a deadly strain of measles that turned those infected into crazed, mindless cannibals, Charlotte wanders the backroads alone, content with surviving day-to-day. That is until she crosses paths with Nate and his daughter, Emmi. Emmi is not and cannot be vaccinated against the disease, so the only way to protect her and give her some kind of life is to reunite her with her estranged mother in a quarantine zone on the other side of the country. Charlotte wants nothing to do with Nate or the girl who looks like her dead sister. She does not want to go through the grief of losing people again if something bad was to happen. And something bad does happen when Emmi is kidnapped, and it is no one's fault but Charlotte's. Through this obligation alone, Charlotte feels like it is her responsibility to get Emmi back, to right her wrong. In helping Nate pursue his kidnapped daughter, Charlotte inadvertently allows herself to feel again, to care for those other than herself. But with the clock ticking, Charlotte's new found family may just end up like her own, dead and destroyed, if Emmi is exposed to the disease that her father tried so hard to protect her from.
