It seems like no one really cares about the mother of this child; they only care about the unplanned pregnancy and fighting for its rights.

To say the least, Cara is shocked and wary when a nice couple decides they want to be her foster parents. They could've chosen anyone, but they wanted her, knowing she was pregnant.
