Amélie Aniello is a French native who travels the world with her uncle, due to his mid-life crisis. Finally, he settles down in a large city in Illinois. Amélie becomes an awkward foreign exchange student, struggling to adapt to her new environment. She strives to find out what she wants to do with her life, and begins wandering through new adventures to get closer to her dreams. Along the way, she meets Luke Hemmings and his friends, whose determination to become a famous band, changes Amélie's outlook on life.
