It was the year of our Lord 496; the wars had been raging for more than fifteen years now. England was falling apart, not one corner unscathed by the horrors of war. King Richard’s campaigns had claimed the lives of so many of England’s young men and boys that there was a fear it would not survive this war. It was rumoured that the legendary sword, Excalibur had stopped responding to Richard, proving to all that a new king was needed. Richard himself had no heirs, his love betrayed him for another and the wound she had left consumed his heart. Fearing his own death and the question of who was next in line, Richard banned all talk of a new king and stoically claimed that Excalibur was still working for him, the way it had when his heart was still open. But Excalibur wouldn’t and couldn’t protect him any longer…

Lorilyse was no ordinary woman. This was not an exaggeration or a dramatic statement intended to attract anyone's attention. No, it was a raw and undeniable truth. Lorilyse was deeply disturbed. She had experienced death, again and again, hundreds of times. Her own death. She remembered every moment. Of all the tortures inflicted on her body, of all the blades that had pierced her flesh, of all the times her head rolled to the ground. She remembered the betrayals that crushed her soul, the relentless efforts she made to counter a cruel fate, only to see everything collapse in an instant. Lorilyse had not lived one life, not even two. She lived dozens, hundreds, each time with a keen awareness of her past lives. She carried this burden in every existence, unable to forget. The trials had changed her. Anyone would have sunk under the weight of accumulated pain, memories of agony, immeasurable losses. And Lorilyse was no exception to this rule. She had fallen into a cold and unshakeable madness. But this madness was not her end. It became her weapon. With each death, she was reborn stronger. With each new life, she accumulated a power so immense that it was beyond comprehension. Live. Die. Reborn. Then die again. This infernal cycle could have lasted forever, but Lorilyse broke the chains. She had renounced the world, isolating herself in a chosen exile, far from everything and everyone. However, fate was not done with her. The universe still had plans, machinations that she had not anticipated. And Lorilyse, in all her craziness and strength, stood ready to face what was to come. ------------------- Sorry if there's any grammatical or other errors, english is not my first language. Enjoy !

[A/N]: Hey guys! Before I post this story, I was going to give a little insight. A very good friend of mine and I decided to write this book, and what better way to recieve constructive critcism than to share with everyone here on wattpad? I'm proud to say that we're nearly finished with it, around three to five more chapters need to be written. However, I will gladly post two chapters a week. Depending on the length, I could possibly split each chapter in two. Enjoy! -Skye & Jasmine My attempts to sleep failed miserably as realization hit me. Tonight was my last night unattached to someone. I swung my legs to one side of the bed. My bare feet brushed the cold floor and sent shivers up my spine. Scotland is much warmer this time of year. I took a few steps toward the window, but before I got too far I heard chatter just outside my door. "She’ll never be happy with him." The first voice, a female, was barely audible. "She could be. She’s just upset about Benjamin." A second voice, a man, replied to the woman. "She’ll never love Derick." A hint of anger played beneath the surface of the woman’s voice. I lay back down after that, so much for Emma accepting our marriage. Unhappiness coursed through my body and I became furious. I’d never love Emma either; with that I went to sleep. I dreamt of my mother singing in the castle, her voice was loud and demanding. Her words flowed so freely from her mouth and danced playfully down the halls. She was in the throne room singing to my father just as she always did. Her song was about the way she learned to love my father. Most marriages in Scotland are arranged, and due to our beliefs they have to work out. My mother had always been so madly in love with my father, but he was hesitant because he had to leave the woman he loved so dearly. So he let her go…

500 years ago, not one soul could find peace from the wars raging between realm's power hungry rulers. To save the realm from complete self-destruction, the Gods made mankind a promise: Whoever can make peace between themselves shall bring about a blessing on the realm for a dozen generations. And so it was. 14 aging Kings of the western coast made peace and formed 3 empires. 11 ambitious Dukes arranged marriages to form 9 new kingdoms. 8 proud Lords of the lake settled their feuds and divided the lakeside. 4 greedy Masters of the mining colonies established the mining confederation. 3 holy Priests united the true worshipers to found a ministry governed state. And so the Gods blessed them, connecting souls across the realm so they may share knowledge, skills and companionship. But a dozen generations have passed and the Blessed have not been seen in decades, becoming nothing more than a story. But the story is not finished yet. To remind the realm of the chaos and destruction birthed by war, the Gods showered the realm with meteors as 8 newborns received the last Blessing of the Lords. As the last children to be touched by the Gods, they will be hunted by those who long for chaos to engulf the realm. They will be tempted to use their shared knowledge for their own gain. But if the realm is to survive, they must use their skills to strengthen each other and end the conflict before it can begin. A naive princess and a vengeful slave. A high-born priestess and an orphaned thief. A reserved hunter and an ambitious acrobat. A noble knight and a crooked smuggler.

Annora, the princess of Albelone, was abandoned in a small village after her mother, Queen Marriane, was framed and sentenced to death for committing treason and betraying King Derek. Annora grew up burning with rage and swore vengeance against her mother's killers. Ten years later, she was suddenly called back by her father to return to the castle, unnaware that she has been gifted as a 'present' to the Grand Duke of Emerade in exchange for peace with Albelone. Being sold off to an old man who was infamous for his cruelty, especially with young girls, Annora decided to escape from the Duke's clutches before her wedding. But her plans were interrupted when she was captured by a strange man while trying to escape. Taken to an unknown place as a captive, will Annora manage to escape hell and rise to power again, or will this be the end of her life and revenge ? ---------------------------------------------------------------- Annora looked into the man's eyes as she pressed her sword on his neck and asked, " Will you be my accomplice or my enemy? Your answer decides if you live or die here." The man looked at her deeply with a tender gaze and closed his eyes. " My sword is yours...my men are ready to kill at your command... and their leader is also yours. Use them as you wish." . . . . . "If all you want is revenge, then hold my hand, and you shall seek what you wish for." "If you ever find yourself alone, turn around and look back, you will always find me standing behind you. " "If this world never gave you love and warmth, then hide in my arms, and I shall love you and protect you with my life."
