Aspen swooped down and hovered just above the large Night Fury. His icy blue eyes met hers. "Aspen," He started, glancing away. "I scouted the western slopes and it's all clear." She nodded, wanting him to continue. Before he could finish, a large spike of ice from a Bewilderbeast cracked and broke off just above them. Aspen quickly looked up to see three Light Fury's diving and swooping down towards them. She glanced back at the Night Fury. "Frost!" she called out.

For 250 years, the world has been buried beneath ice and shadow. The Shroud swallowed the sky, putting the planet into an endless winter. The sun is nothing but a myth, and the last of humanity clings to survival in the underground cities. So does Odette Voss until the fall of Aetheris. Odette barely escapes, forced onto the frozen surface she's only heard horror stories about. The cold is brutal. The ruins are haunted by creatures that should not exist. And the few survivors left will do anything to stay alive but so will she. The only things keeping her going are the thoughs about her brother and the safe haven, Aurelia. The sky fogged over. I couldn't carry Aspen any longer. "Let me take the blue one. It'll save me." Tears dripped onto his cheeks as I fed him the ocean blue pill. I prayed. I waited and waited for him to get up. He never did. Everything was chaotic. I wish I could go back. Back to when we didn't hear the voices on the other side of the wall. All he ever wanted. All he ever fought for. Becomes the scythe to his bleeding core... The curse hiding under the tenderness of a touch. The softness of a voice... of a loving gaze. What do you do when you meet the one you are destined to be with but are forbidden to do so. Do you break the rules and risk everything or do you turn your back on them. His mask covered half his face she couldn't see his expression but she could hear his heart beat. He couldn't believe what she said, he had been sent to kill some rouges that had become a threat but he didn't expect to run in to this she wolf. And the words that had left her beautiful mouth had shocked him, frozen to the ground he looked at her standing in the moonlight that made her look like an angel. She took small slow steps towards him, he could see she was scared. But who wouldn't be he had just killed one of her kind, sure it was a rouge but none the less a wolf like her. He moved his hand making her flinch, he then held his empty hand up showing he wouldn't hurt her and put the other hand with the gun back in holster. She started walking forward again, slowly she placed a hand on his chest looking up in to his green eyes. He looked back into her ocean blue ones, still scared she repeated her words. "Mate"
