"This is a story about accepting the people we love- the people we have to love and the people we choose to love, the families we are given and the families we make." This is a story about an orphan, a hopeful mother, and an accepting guardian searching for someone they lost. With the United States at war with the Middle East and the European Union, families of North African and middle eastern backgrounds are torn apart and put in concentration camps. History is repeating itself and unfortunately Nor and her family had fallen prey to the vicious evils of society. Nor's lived her life going from house to house trying to find a loving family to take care of her. Her foster homes aren't as welcoming as they seemed. Living a life ridiculed and abused, Nor manages to find the home just for her: A woman who lost her child in a fateful accident yearns for a child to love once more. When Nor comes knocking at her door looking for a place to stay, she is more than willing to give her a roof over her head. With the war finally ceased and prisoners liberated, Nor desperately wants to find out where her parents are. Together, Nor and her guardian embark on an adventure to find out who she truly is, accept the truth of her sorrowful past, and reconcile bonds with the family she lost. What ties us to the Earth? What is life after death? Why do we continue to live in a world full of broken promises and empty smiles? Jace Abney has been wondering this for all of his life. Now he's older, almost 35, with a wife and two beautiful children and an amazing job as a doctor. Yet, even through all of this, he still has not found the happiness he has been looking for since he was a small child. His life still holds an inescapable void, slowly gnawing at the sanity in his mind. Jace has been visiting a cliff for the past week. His intentions to jump over weigh his sanity in the beginning, but in the end the roles are switched. He curses at his self and ventures back home, locking away his thoughts for what he feels will be forever. Yet, the very next day he repeats his cycle again. On the opposite end of the United States, a teenager named Arron asks himself the same questions. Yet, because of his age, no one takes him seriously. "You're still young," they tell him, "It gets better." Arron can't see anything getting better though, and so he takes matters into his own hands. In the middle of the night, he grabs what little he has and flees. Arron isn't sure where to go or what to do, but he's doing something. Will Jace find what he's looking for? Will he jump or never visit the cliff again? Will Arron get hurt? What will become of him? To find out, continue reading.
