"Amber!" A voice rushed into my head. Opening my eyes, I saw a blurry figure speaking to two cronies. His dark haired head snapped to me. "Rise." He said. I rose, eyes clearing to see a room of black and fire. The room dark except for Erin next to me. I stood on shaking knees, until fully upright on my feet. "You, girl. I have a special job for you." He looked me up and down, eyes glowing. "You are to be my Griever, you are to be my spy."
Amber Ehbwe, a 15 year old high school student, did the unthinkable for her teen crush. She jumped in front of a bullet. Waking up in a room filled with light and feathery wings, the mighty voice gave her a job. She was to be a reaper, to take souls for his personal business. But when trapped in a bind, she found herself facing his darker counterpart. The fire-god's job for her was to be a spy, to live endless years, and to give him information of the upcoming war of heavens. Along with her fellow spy Erin, Amber has to decide whether her true self is one of feathers, or scales. Whether or not she is light or dark, whether or not she belongs in Heaven or Hell.
