Before you read this you need to know how this universe works or it won't make sense. Should have made it a bit clearer in the story but here you go:
In this world, everyone is born with a grey heart-shaped tattoo somewhere on their arms, back or face. Once their soulmate's tattoo touches theirs, their tattoos become colourful and bright (this is called Enlightenment). This is permanent and the tattoos won't become grey again.
I hope that makes sense. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this cringey story. I'll hopefully add each chapter quite quickly because I have no life and nothing else to do.

Louis spent his entire adolescence excited at the possibilities of what his tattoo would look like and who his soulmate would be, until his 18th birthday. The day of everyone's lives where they're supposed to have had their tattoo already. Now, 5 years after the disappointment of not receiving one, Louis has completely given up on ever finding someone. He's given up on ever getting a tattoo, on ever finding a soul mate, and on ever being loved. Until he meets Kealleigh a month after her 18th birthday. (This is a short story. Please do not directly steal my ideas, like the tattoos for example because I made them up entirely on my own. This short story is a complete work of fiction inspired by some other soulmate stories that I've read over time. COLOURS
Everybody has a tattoo; they could be absolutely anywhere on your body. The tattoo begins appearing on the person's sixteenth birthday. Nobody has the same tattoo as they reflected the person's personality. They could be similar, but they are never duplicated. Depending on the person's soulmates mood, the colour of the tattoo changes. When they're mad, it turns a mix of deep red and orange, when they are embarrassed it changes to a bright yellow, when they are upset it turns blue, when they are feeling lonely it turns purple and so on. The only time the tattoo will light up and turn white is when the person and their soulmate are in a thirty foot radius and when you lock eyes with your soulmate, it begins to heat up. When you meet the other, you get one final tattoo that represents the two of you together and when you learn their name, it appears under it. This is a soulmate Cinderella au. Only first few chapters will be the Cinderella part and then I'm going to write what happened after for the rest.
