Tim Riggins, fullback for the Dillion Panthers is used to coasting off his small town fame, getting exactly what he wants whenever it pleases him. With coach Taylor's recent departure from the team Tim finds himself questioning if football is really is future as he finds himself wanting to focus on other areas that seem more promising. When the new coach comes to town Tim finds himself drawn to the challenge that comes in the form of the coaches daughter.
