Everything was different when Jeff was here. Everything was better. Everyone was clean.

Now Lucas, Nora, Gus and Hex are on a downward spiral after relapsing. Having lost both their homes, the four end up in Section 8 housing, where indulging in their vices is too tempting and far too easy.

Things only get worse when an encounter with a dangerous drug dealer pushes them out of their apartment and ultimately onto the streets in the middle of winter.

The family of four, along with Gus's beloved cat, Moon, do their best to stay positive, stay together, and stay alive, but as the chains of their addiction tighten around them, their biggest challenge is no longer making it through the winter. It's making it to their 20th birthdays.

This is the final book in the Reaper Series. Please read book 1, "Reaper's Lullaby," and book 2, "Reaper's Touch," before starting this installment.

Note: This book series is rated M for a reason. Possible triggers: descriptive drug use, language, sex, suicide ideology, self harm, domestic abuse, child abuse, sexual abuse of a minor, rape of a minor (including sodomy) and violence with descriptions of weapons, blood and gore. I go into detail and don't hold back. You've been warned.

Trying to escape her home life in order to save her little brother, Skylar must decide between keeping secrets or saving herself. With the help of Beckett, her first love, and his family Skylar might be able to break the cycle and stop from becoming everything she hates. Preview: I gritted my teeth when I saw that Beckett was still sitting there. I released Waylin's hand and pulled Beckett up from the chair and across the hall. "What do you want?" I asked harshly, trying not to raise my voice. "Nothing, I just thought you might need somewhere to stay. You said that you didn't have any relatives in the area, and I figured you and Waylin could stay at my house. My parents wouldn't mind." I rolled my eyes and took a deep breath to compose myself. "What makes you think I would want to stay with you? Huh?" I asked. He didn't flinch at my words, but looked sadly down at me. "Please, just put the past aside and do what's right for Waylin." "Don't you dare tell me what is best for Waylin! I've been taking care of him pretty damn well his whole life. You have no right to assume otherwise about my decisions." He put up his hands in surrender and sighed. "Look, I don't know why your mom is in the ICU, I don't know anything, okay? I just know that you're going to need somewhere to stay where there are actual adults because you aren't his guardian, and I don't see any social workers around. So, what? You told them you had a family member coming to get you, right?" I rolled my eyes and he continued. "Right. So, what are you going to do when they send social services to your house?"
