Childhood Sweethearts
#1 Teen Fiction | #1 Young Adult | #1 Romance "We all need someone to drive us mad." - The Wombats. He stared arrogantly down at me, a smirk plastered across his face. I sneered up at him with distaste, wanting to wrap my fingers around his neck and strangle that smirk off of him. He brushed my golden hair from my face, his long, slender fingers sparking electricity in my skin, making my knees wobble together. "Will you ever, forgive me?" he whispered huskily, his eyes intently staring into mine. His face was only mere inches from me. I just needed to reach out a little further to kiss him... "Yeah. Over my dead body." I snapped, before throwing my arms out forcefully, shoving my hands into his chest, pushing him from me. -*-*-*- He, is Carter Williams. I, am Lacey Adams. We were once, inseparable. The 'Golden Couple'. The unbreakable best friends, that everybody envied. Nothing could get between us. A part from being tighter than white on rice, we updated our status from friends to being in a relationship, frequently. We were neighbours, which meant our families were all close and even co-owned houses around our town. This, all is, until the day of my sixteenth birthday. Everything changed. The loving relationship we shared, was severed and torn apart. I couldn't hardly stand to look at him any more, without spitting fire that is. Every day is torture being around him. He was in all my classes at school and the window in my room was even directly aligned with his. So, what happens? My mother's mum gets sick, so dad and her fly out. Just them. Leaving me to stay with Carter and his parents, who are never home. We would be alone. In one house. Under the same roof. If I was insane before, I have no idea what I am now. © 2016 by LaurenJ22. Ember's Cupid
Mason and I were close. I looked up to him, not as a lover but as a partner. He was my best friend, my other half, a shoulder to lean on; Mason was the best person I could have ever possibly met. I saw him not as most women see men but as they see their siblings. Even with our cupid status, we hadn't believed in love, we only believed in loyalty. "What is it like to be in love?" He quietly giggled and shook his head. "I do not know; I've never been in love before. I think that it is like caring for someone so deeply that you would put their needs before your own. Being in love is like being with your best friend all the time, they know you better than anyone else does, they are someone who helps you become a better person just by being there. Being in love is... well... it is knowing and accepting and believing in them no matter whom else is there. You will always care for them, even if you aren't there with them. If you are truly in love then nothing will ever change that." He promised me that he would always be there even in my darkest moments, but it turned out... that is was nothing but a lie. It was only a lie that our kind had told themselves, to secure their mental state. Walking down the alleys of the streets, to not be seen, I turn my head in the opposite direction of my destination. Footprints, we left footprints in the snow; of course they were faint and were soon ready to disappear yet they were still there. At that point in time they were there whether it was seen or not. I guess each of us were humans at one point, whether we were seen or not, we were still there. Then one day we weren't, we disappeared only to be covered by the lies that our loved ones told themselves to understand that missing feeling. We were there and then we weren't just as the footprints in the snow.Complete

Survivor's remorse (Book 3)
"May I join you?" He sat down before I even said anything, I looked at him and carried on with what I was doing. "Want to hear a fun fact?" "My sister used to work at this place, she loved working here, she met the people she loved here" He said while looking around the place. "I wasn't ready you know? Like she was here and now she is just gone. Forever" I let out a sarcastic laugh Me" I know what you mean" I ordered four more tequilas, and paid for them. "Fuck life" He smiled, I pushed two tequilas his way and downed mine. Me" I have to go, it was nice meeting you sir" I pat his back and then grabbed my things. "You from England?" "The accent" I nodded Me" Well I'm from Cape Town but I moved to England when I was 6 years old with my Aunt." He also got up from his chair "Enjoy your vacation" I shrugged Me" I'm actually here for a funeral and my brother is getting married two weeks after that" He laughed "Isn't there a movie about that?" I laughed too "There is, I really have to go. It was nice meeting you" He said Me" Goodnight" He smiled "Goodnight" I laughed because Qhama really didn't recognize me and I feel stupid, because in a room full of people. He would be the only person I recognize, I guess I don't matter anymore.Complete
