Hailey wasn't looking for love. She wasn't looking for anything, really. Just leave her on the ice rink with a puck, skates, and stick and she'd be happy. It's when her James Garner started playing on her team that things got complicaited. He played games with her, teasing and flirting until her brain dizzied from the mixed signals. But she wasn't one to step down from a challange.

He walks up to me, the girl standing behind him. "Hello Jordan," Gillespie says. He points to the girl. "This little lady here is a new student. I'm gonna have her work with you today, show her the ropes. Behave yourselves." Before I get a chance to protest, Gillespie walks off to check on other people's progress. The girl just stands there, looking at me quizzically. "Um," I say. "Do you have a name?" "Yes," she says, and I'm struck by her accent. I think it's French. "My name is Nicole, Nicole Lavoie." "Interesting. Say, is that a French accent I hear? Are you from Quebec or something?" "Yes, I am, she says. "Montreal, to be exact." "Really? I've always wanted to go there!" "That's awesome. Uh, your name is Jordan, right?" "Yes, yes it is." *** Jordan Devlin is a hockey player, and a good one at that. Although hockey has always been his passion, there is one thing that he hasn't been able to figure out: love. When he suddenly meets a girl he finds incredibly attractive, he is unsure of what to do. What will Jordan do about this girl, now that he finds his life turned upside down? *** "Tell me a bit about yourself. You're the first person here that I've talked to since coming here." "Alright," I say, unsure of what to say next. "I spend a lot of my time playing hockey. That's where I strive to be professionally." "You're a hockey player, huh? Nicole asks excitedly. "What position?" "Centre." "Cool. You do much of anything else?" I shrug. "No. Just a hockey player." "Are you any good?" "How does fifty goals in twenty games sound to you?" Her eyes widen. "That's near impossible, isn't it?" "Apparently not." "That's impressive. Now, let's get to work. The teacher is staring at us." I nod, and we get to work. The whole time, I cannot help but smile stupidly, because Nicole took such an interest in me, and who I am. She seems so full of life, and not one to let it bring her down. I'm beginning to like her already.

🌸 So far, so good. Despite everything, Madeline's still standing, still living - though her life has been upended more than once. Moving from America to England wasn't exactly easy but oddly enough, the return was much simpler. With little more than the bare minimum from her parents, and diabetes always complicating things, she had to rely on her brother for real help. Now, as she steps back into Nashville, she wonders how this might realign her path. Somehow, everything feels like it's falling into place. She's exactly where she needs to be - though there's one complication : a boy. Something she didn't planned at all. And maybe he's part of the plan, too. Maybe for the better. 🏒 Hockey has always been one of Jude's greatest loves, ever since he can remember. And to be blunt, he's damn good at it. But don't mistake him for the typical player type you read about in books. He doesn't have girls lining up outside his door, and when there is someone, he treats her right - once, and only once. It's a rule he set for himself. He met his best friend Colin during a hockey game, both rooting for opposite teams. Colin was on the wrong side, of course, but somehow, they became inseparable. Colin has diabetes, so over time, he learned how to help. What he didn't expect was for that knowledge to help him with a girl. A girl more complicated than any genetic disease. But maybe that's a challenge worth taking. ° ° ° Welcome to this new book. Please don't forget to vote, comment and share ❤️

Just One Puck Camilla Lato, a passionate hockey player, is forced to take a break after an injury. Frustrated and restless, she's assigned to train with Nate Carter, the quiet and serious assistant coach with a past he won't talk about. At first, they don't get along-Camilla wants to push through her pain, while Nate insists she slow down. But as they spend more time on the ice, tension turns into something else. Nate teaches her patience, and Camilla reminds him why he once loved the game. One night, under the rink's dim lights, Emi challenges him: one shot, one puck. If she scores, he has to let go of his past. As the puck slides into the net, Nate realizes it's not just hockey he's been avoiding-it's the feeling Camilla gives him. With one goal and one kiss on the ice, they both find something worth playing for.⛸️
