Two years ago, there was confusion because of Ruth's inability to understand things, and what Noah felt for her. He went into teaching, she went into be a science article editor. When she moved back home and gets a job near her old town and Noah teaches at their old school, their paths cross, but rebuilding the past is slow, especially when you can't hug, or even touch, without triggering a possible panic attack with Ruth. I DON'T think people with autism are childish or cute, I'm not projecting a stereotype. This is from my own struggles with autism at a public school without special needs.
