After over fifty years, Arina stands on the doorstep of her childhood home in Krakow. This trip, one organized by her granddaughter Adeline, has forced her to revisit memories that her late son never knew. She thought it a shame that she never had the chance to tell her son about some of the darker details of her life.

In 1942, Arina was able to escape her death with the help of another prisoner of trauma, someone she has befriended upon her arrival at the camp. With neither of them knowing where their living family is,  a hopelessly optimistic young girl wants nothing but to find comfort in a normal life with him. For the next fifty years, Arina learns to find love and how to deal with heartbreak. But inevitably, she will have to face the truth of her past. Nothing is more painful than the secret she blocked out for so long.

Max is a Nazi soldier with a secret; he is half Jewish. His mother and sisters were raped and killed in the camps. His neighbor's father a high ranking Nazi. He knows of Max's circumstances and forces him to disguise himself for his protection. When his worst nightmare of being stationed at one of the camps come true, he vows to do everything in his power help the prisoner's cause.All Rights Reserved
