I've always been a liar. I've never really had the ambition to tell the truth, as bad as that sounds. It came like breathing to me. It started with the white lies when I was little. Things that didn't really matter what side of the fence they fell. 'I washed my hands.' I actually just spit and dusted them on my jeans. 'My stomach hurts, I can't go to school.' It's not like my parents cared or even bothered to notice. Their attention was solely focused on my prized older brother. Even though they didn't know, I did. That made me crave it more.

It's when i got older than it became a problem. Like with friends. When it 'sliped' from my mouth that I saw Nicole's boyfriend hooking up with Erica during fourth period when I'm pretty sure they were just smoking a joint. But Nicole believed me because she had no reason not to.

Something about this place, I don't wanna leave. It's different this time. Maybe that's what home is. What love is. What family is. When it pulls out honesty.

"Breathing. Something I've always known how to do, yet sometimes it seems impossible. I sat in the passenger seat of a red convertible Mustang. The car belonged to my... would you call him my owner? I sat with my knees pulled up to my chest, I put my hand on the window of the car, wiping away some of the fog. My father and the guy who had just bought me, shook hands, finalizing the arrangement, as they stood on our front porch... or could you even call it that? The rain came down making it hard to see. Yes, breathing. Everyone knows how to do it, but it's normal for someone to forget how to, right? Right now, I felt as if my lungs had been ripped from my chest... or was that just my heart? My buyer ran from the porch, covering his head with his jacket. He stepped into his Mustang, and pulled it into reverse. Then with a simple movement, he turned the vehicle around and headed down the drive. I watched as my whole world slipped away." -Can't Buy Me Love *************************************** They were best friends, he was rich, she lived in a trailer. Maac stepped away from the tree, closing the space between us. His hot breath was steaming against my forehead as he looked down at me with his brown eyes, sparkling in the moon's light. "Lemme prove that it is, Sel..." as he lowered his head, lightly placing his lips against mine. I had lost. But he made me not care.
