Amari woke up.
She didn't wake up from an alarm clock or Ivy waking her up after she slept in. No. She woke up to the cold smell of metal emanating from a knife entrenched right in her neck. For some reason the girl wasn't frightened. It felt like she expected something like this. So, after calmly opening her eyes, Amari accustomed them to the light and looked around. She was tied to a chair in the middle of a black room. Right above her was a dimly shining lamp.
